Aggregation Functions Constructions, Characterizations, and Functional Equations

چکیده
Ordinal sums have been introduced in many different contexts, e.g., for posets, semigroups, t-norms, copulas, aggregation operators, or quite recently for hoops. In this contribution, we focus on ordinal sums of t-norms acting on some bounded lattice which is not necessarily a chain or an ordinal sum of posets. Necessary and sufficient conditions are provided for an ordinal sum operation yielding again a t-norm on some bounded lattice whereas the operation is determined by an arbitrary selection of subintervals as carriers for arbitrary summand t-norms. By such also the structure of the underlying bounded lattice is investigated. Further, it is shown that up to trivial cases there are no ordinal sum t-norms on product lattices in general. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Characterization of Some Aggregation Functions Arising from Multicriteria Decision Making Problems
We investigate the aggregation phase of multicriteria decision making procedures. Characterizations of some classes of nonconventional aggregation operators are established. The first class consists of the ordered weighted averaging operators (OWA) introduced by Yager. The second class corresponds to the weighted maximum defined by Dubois and Prade. The dual class (weighted minimum) and some or...
متن کاملAxiomatizations of quasi-polynomial functions on bounded chains
Two emergent properties in aggregation theory are investigated, namely horizontal maxitivity and comonotonic maxitivity (as well as their dual counterparts) which are commonly defined by means of certain functional equations. We completely describe the function classes axiomatized by each of these properties, up to weak versions of monotonicity, in the cases of horizontal maxitivity and minitiv...

متن کاملNumerical solution of functional integral equations by using B-splines
This paper describes an approximating solution, based on Lagrange interpolation and spline functions, to treat functional integral equations of Fredholm type and Volterra type. This method can be extended to functional differential and integro-differential equations. For showing efficiency of the method we give some numerical examples.
متن کاملRepresentations and Characterizations of Polynomial Functions on Chains
We are interested in representations and characterizations of lattice polynomial functions f : L → L, where L is a given bounded distributive lattice. In a companion paper [4], we investigated certain representations and provided various characterizations of these functions both as solutions of certain functional equations and in terms of necessary and sufficient conditions. In the present pape...
